On May 24, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half mast in remembrance of the victims of the school shooting in Uvalde, TX.
According to a CNN, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos shot and killed 19 students and two adults at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX, leaving at least 17, including the shooter’s grandmother, wounded.
“Our prayers are with the parents, families, students and staff of Robb Elementary in Uvalde, TX at this unimaginable time,” Ducey said in a Twitter post that same day. “Thankful for the heroic efforts of medical pros, law enforcement and community members who responded so quickly.”
That same day, Ducey issued a proclamation on the Governor’s Office website stating that flags would be at half-staff until sundown on May 28.
A law enforcement officer shot and killed Ramos inside the school, authorities said.
