FOIA Request to Arizona State Executive - State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.
As a part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Grand Canyon Times have sent a request under the Arizona Public Records Law § 39.101 et seq. The request specifically asks for a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and/or general instruction.
We believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we consider ourselves eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We eagerly await their response and will continue our efforts in keeping the public informed about matters that directly affect them.
