Cochise College held a graduation ceremony and recognized 11 law enforcement students representing six agencies on May 26 at the Douglas Campus.
Law enforcement agencies across the state and Cochise County have many job vacancies. “The induction of new cadets comes at a time to help agencies and the local communities with officer shortages,” said Dr. Eric Brooks, Executive Director of the First Responders Academy. “This is a proud moment for all of us to see the new cadets complete their training, graduate, and begin their careers delivering the best in public safety, serving our communities and living up to their class motto, “Above all, Loyal through it all.”
Sergeant Luis Hernandez, the academy supervisor, recognized three individuals for the class awards. Javier Ballesteros received the firearms award. Arnoldo Burquez was selected for the physical training award. Brighton Yarbrough earned the academic award.
