Gov. Doug Ducey has appointed Pete Kim to the state's new Water Infrastructure Finance Authority, making Kim the governor’s last pick for the board that is charge with securing the state's water resources.
“I’m confident Pete and his fellow board members will help to set our state on the path to success,” Ducey said in a news release from the governor's office website.
The nine-member Water Infrastructure Finance Authority board, which was established this year, is appointed by Ducey and the Arizona Legislature. It is responsible for "providing funding to water providers and entities for water-related enterprises," the release stated.
Kim, a resident of Scottsdale, has worked in consulting and software development, as well as investment banking and private equity. He later founded his own digital media and consulting firm before selling it to S4 Capital, the release said.
Ducey said Kim's experience made him a good fit for the board.
“Pete’s extensive experience in the technology industry, especially with large-scale acquisitions, will give the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority the edge it needs to acquire, store and sell new imported water,” Ducey said.
Kim earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania after getting his bachelor's degree in biomechanical engineering from the University of California Berkeley, the release stated.
