Arizona Gov. Ducey has appointed Jeffrey Louis Sklar to the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division II, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Philip Espinosa's retirement.
“I am delighted to announce his appointment to the Arizona Court of Appeals,” Ducey said Dec. 12 in a release from the governor's office. “Jeffrey’s extensive civil litigation experience, service as a Superior Court Judge, and strong commitment to the separation of powers, gives me great confidence in his ability to serve the people of Arizona well.”
Sklar currently presides over the family law division of the Pima County Superior Court. He will take over for Espinosa, who had served on the court of appeals since being appointed in 1992.
"Jeffrey’s extensive civil litigation experience, service as a Superior Court Judge, and strong commitment to the separation of powers, gives me great confidence in his ability to serve the people of Arizona well," Ducey wrote in a post on Twitter.
