Sen. Hoffman: 'Ms. Nicolson is a prime example of the type of candidate that should be appointed to our state agencies by Katie Hobbs’

Arizona State Sen. Jake Hoffman (R-15) announced that the Arizona Senate Committee on Director Appointments voted to recommend approval of Gov. Katie Hobbs’ (D-Ariz.) nomination of of Susan Nicolson to the position of Commissioner for the Department of Real State.

"Ms. Nicolson did an exceptional job during the confirmation process,” said Hoffman in a statement. “She conducted herself in a professional, direct and enthusiastic manner, which I greatly appreciate.” 

“Our vetting of Ms. Nicolson revealed she is highly qualified, free from partisan political agendas and outside influence, and she genuinely wants to serve the citizens of this great state,” he said. “Ms. Nicolson is a prime example of the type of candidate that should be appointed to our state agencies by Katie Hobbs.”

Hobbs appointed Nicolson to the position on February 17, 2023. 

Nicolson currently works as a realtor and designated broker with Sun Cactus & Pine Realty, according to her LinkedIn profile. She previously worked as a licensed realtor with Susan Nicolson PLLC with DPR Realty LLC. 

She also was the president of WeServe, the West and Southeast Realtors of the Valley, and co-president of the Phoenix West Rotary Club.

Nicolson's appointment now advances to the full Arizona State Senate for a vote.
