WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema – Chair of the Space and Science Subcommittee – met with members of Blue Origin to discuss priorities ensuring the safety, efficiency, and success of space research and exploration efforts.

“Innovative approaches to space research and exploration – like those at Blue Origin – grow America’s economy, strengthen our planetary defense, and launch us into the future,” said Sinema, Chair of the Space and Science Subcommittee.

Arizona continues to build on its space innovation leadership, from Artemis manufacturing to cutting-edge space research programs at Arizona universities. Last month, Blue Origin opened an office in Phoenix specializing in avionics, systems engineering, and supply chain management.

Sinema recently chaired a Senate hearing highlighting Arizona’s national leadership in space research and exploration with NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and urged him to prioritize Arizona space missions.

In March, Sinema also met with NASA Administrator Nelson to discuss Arizona space priorities in the 118th Congress. The month prior Sinema introduced the ORBITS Act – legislation improving national security, supporting communications reliability, and protecting American astronauts by directing NASA to publish a list of space debris that poses a risk.
