PHOENIX – The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records announced today the awarding of $801,805 in grants for 59 library projects in 11 Arizona counties. The award is made possible with federal Library Services and Technology Act funding, which is part of the Institute of Museum and Library Services' Grants to State program.
"With these grants, our State Library is fulfilling its key mission of connecting Arizonans of all ages to the resources they need in the 21st century, while preserving our rich history for current and future generations," Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said. "I want to thank my hardworking staff for their unwavering support of libraries that serve diverse communities across Arizona."
Awarded on May 5, some of the projects funded by the grant include STEM youth workshops on topics such as nutrition and coding, virtual reality experiences, Wi-Fi hotspot lending, content creation for aspiring writers, citizen science programs, as well as preserving community and college collections.
