An upcoming election deadline is approaching quickly in Arizona. The deadline for independent presidential write-in candidates to file nomination papers for the general election takes place in two weeks on Aug. 17.

Individuals aiming to run as independent presidential write-in candidates must submit their nomination papers by a specific deadline, often several months before the General Election. Missing this deadline leads to disqualification from the race.

The Arizona Secretary of State Elections Division is a nonpartisan government agency responsible for overseeing all aspects of state elections. It also provides training and support to county election officials and works to ensure that all Arizonans have access to fair and secure elections.
