Rep. Austin Smith (R-Ariz) has made a bold assertion that the state of Arizona is under siege and has called upon its citizens to resist what he terms as the radical left.

"Arizona is under attack. Our culture, our border, our elections. All of it," Smith declared. He added, "It's time to fight back. I love this state, & I refuse to lose it to the radical left." Concluding his statement, Smith said, "I'm Austin Smith, & I'm running for LD 29 to protect our western heritage." These remarks were made during an address at the Arizona House Republicans.

According to information available on austinforarizona.com, Smith questions the credibility of American elections. Specifically targeting the 2020 Maricopa county elections, he labeled them a national disgrace. In his view, maintaining America's integrity as a nation necessitates fair and transparent elections. He advocates for a voter identification mandate to ensure fairness and democracy in electoral processes. His primary focus is safeguarding Arizona's 10th Amendment Right which allows the state to manage its own elections.

An article from Ballotpedia provides further insight into Smith's background and political career. It states that he currently represents District 29 and has held positions such as director for Turning Point Action and field director of Students For Trump. In the 2022 election, Smith along with Rep. Montenegro triumphed over Scott Podeyn. Prior to this victory, Smith served as chair of the Arizona Young Republicans.

A report from FOX 10 highlights an ongoing crisis at the Arizona border due to inadequate management measures in place. The Cochise County sheriff expressed his concerns saying, "Everything I've seen is not good and what I don't see is engagement, recognition from this administration or Congress. All they keep saying is hey, we need to do this, we need more money for immigration. Well, the border is becoming a money pit. It's truly a money pit why border security and national security is being set aside."
