Mesa Parks and Recreation is gearing up for an exciting spring season, offering a wide range of programs and activities for people of all ages and abilities. Registration for these programs will begin on Monday, Feb. 5 for Mesa residents and Monday, Feb. 12 for non-Mesa residents.

According to a spokesperson from Mesa Parks and Recreation, the city is committed to providing diverse options for its residents. "We want to ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to engage in recreational activities that suit their interests and abilities," the spokesperson said.

The spring programs cover a wide variety of sports and activities. For adults, there are options such as volleyball, softball, kickball, tennis, pickleball, and the popular recess for adults program. The program has received accolades for its ability to provide a fun and competitive environment for adults to stay active.

Youth sports are also a major focus for Mesa Parks and Recreation. The city offers volleyball, futsal, junior golf, and playball multi-sport programs for young athletes to develop their skills and enjoy the benefits of team sports.

Teenagers are not left behind, as Mesa Parks and Recreation has designed programs specifically for their age group. These include 3-on-3 basketball, pickleball, tabletop nights, and junior teens tournaments. The aim is to provide a safe and engaging environment where teenagers can socialize and participate in activities they enjoy.

Mesa Parks and Recreation also prioritizes adaptive recreation, ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to inclusive programs. Some of the activities offered include TGIF events, track and field, hiking, and even a fashion show. The spokesperson emphasized the importance of these programs in promoting inclusivity and fostering a sense of belonging for everyone in the community.

In addition to sports programs, Mesa Parks and Recreation offers various other activities. These include tennis and pickleball lessons, swim lessons, lifeguard and water safety instructor certification, and spring break camps. For those interested in more unconventional options, there are also hip hop tumbling, babysitting and child safety courses, dog manners training, and tai chi classes.

These include online registration using the Active Net Registration System, email submission of a completed registration form, mailing the form to the Mesa Parks and Recreation office, or in-person registration at the office located at 708 W.
