More than half of Arizona's Democrat registered voters are on the state's Active Early Voter List (AEVL), compared with just 46 percent of Republicans.
That's according to an analysis of Arizona Voter Registration data by the Grand Canyon Times.
Of the state's 2.104 million registered Democrats, 1.059 million of them-- or 50.1 percent-- are on the AEVL list, which means they are automatically sent a ballot-by-mail for all elections in which they are eligible to vote.
Arizona has 2.316 million registered Republicans, and 1.068 million of them-- 46.1 percent-- have signed up for the list.
Democrats hold an early voting list edge in eight of Arizona's 15 counties, including its three largest, comprising 75 percent of the state's registered voters.
In Maricopa County, 58 percent of registered Democrats (635,085 voters) are on the AEVL list, compared with 54 percent (663,451) of Republicans.
In Pima County, Democrats have a larger advantage-- with 60 percent (209,320) on the AEVL list, versus 47 percent (122,119) for Republicans.
In Pinal County, Democrats have a slight edge, 38 percent (48,876) to 37 percent (64,424).
Republicans lead in Yavapai (42 percent to 39 percent) and Mohave (30-22).
All told, 33 percent of state of Arizona voters are Republican, 30 percent are Democrat, 29 percent have no designated party, five percent are independent and one percent libertarian.
To be eligible for the AEVL, a voter must have an Arizona mailing address.
Arizona county election authorities mail ballots to voters on the AEVL 27 days prior to every election.
