528 illegal aliens were arrested in April 2024 alone for crimes, including murder, sex crimes against children, human trafficking, and drug smuggling. Of the 193 illegal immigrants apprehended in Arizona in April, almost all were arrested for illegally entering the United States. Some had criminal records involving sex crimes, according to an analysis from Restoration News.
A report from Restoration News found that over 500 illegal alien alleged criminals were arrested in April alone. This figure included 20 illegal aliens arrested on murder charges.
As John R. Modlin, Chief Patrol Agent of the U.S. Border Patrol's Tucson Sector, posted on X, Mexican national Arturo Arteaga-Salinas was one of six smuggled illegal immigrants arrested at Three Points Station on April 7. Arteaga-Salinas' criminal record includes felony convictions for sex crimes, including sodomy and lewd and lascivious acts with a child under age 14.
Modlin also shared that on April 18, Mexican national Jose Hernandez-Garcia was arrested after illegally crossing the border near Sells. Hernandez-Garcia had a prior conviction for third-degree rape in 2022 in Spokane, Washington.
The Laken Riley Act would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to detain non-citizens who have been arrested for crimes like burglary, theft, and shoplifting. The bill passed through the House for consideration by the US Senate. All five Democratic members of Georgia's House delegation, Reps. Sanford (D), Hank Johnson (D), Lucy McBath (D), David Scott (D), and Nikema Williams (D), voted against the bill.
