Pope Francis referenced Vice President Kamala Harris' support for abortion, calling it "an assassination."
“It is an assassination,” said Francis during a Sept. 13 press conference held aboard his plane. “On these things we must speak clearly. No ‘but’ or ‘however.’”
Though he didn’t refer to Harris by name, the pope called her “the one who that kills children,” reported the NY Post.
Harris’ support for abortion earned an “F” rating from SBA Pro-Life, but a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
SBA Pro-Life said Harris “opposes equal medical care for living, breathing babies who have already been born” for helping block a February 2019 vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.”
“This bill would ensure babies who survive an abortion are given the same medical attention a baby born at the same age would receive.”
Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, the Chairman of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, said in a Sept. 20 statement that Catholics should “work for the legal protection of every human life, from conception to natural death.”
