In the Phoenix area, additional highway restrictions are scheduled this weekend from February 28 to March 3. These closures come alongside those already listed in the Arizona Department of Transportation's (ADOT) Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory.
The southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) frontage road, also known as Price Road, will be closed between Southern Avenue and Fremont Drive near US 60 (Superstition Freeway). This closure is set for pavement maintenance and will occur from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2. Motorists are advised to consider alternate routes such as southbound Dobson Road or McClintock Drive.
Additionally, the westbound US 60 ramp leading to eastbound I-10 in Tempe will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Saturday, March 1, due to barrier maintenance work. Alternative routes include continuing westbound on I-10, exiting at 32nd Street, and then turning around to enter eastbound I-10.
Furthermore, both HOV lane ramps at the I-10/US 60 interchange near the Broadway Curve will also be closed overnight during the same hours for barrier maintenance. Drivers can use the primary ramps between these two freeways instead.
ADOT notes that schedules may change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen factors. The department is responsible for planning and constructing new freeways, additional lanes, and other improvements in Phoenix as part of the Regional Transportation Plan for Maricopa County.
For real-time updates on highway conditions, travelers can visit ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, use the az511 app available for Apple or Android devices, or call 511.
