Maricopa Police Department (MPD) Volunteers are working hard to assemble and deliver gift bags to local isolated and/or homebound seniors. Contents of the bags include rocks made by seniors at the Community Center which were fired by Lisa, a Ceramic and Creative Crafts instructor. The rocks are delivered, complete with paint and a paint brush, to homebound recipients registered with the YANA (You Are Not Alone) program. The contents also include a handmade card for each recipient, with a hand-crafted gift bag decorated with paper flowers made by the seniors. If you would like an opportunity to “give back”, please join us at the Community Center (41614 W. Smith-Enke Road) on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at 11:30 AM for our Creative Crafts group or apply to be an MPD volunteer online here: https://bit.ly/3vYGeLa.
