Arizona Corporation Commission Vice Chairman Nick Myers is set to hold the second annual Wildfire Mitigation Town Hall in Payson, Arizona. The meeting, scheduled for May 15, 2025, is intended to foster dialogue among community members and key stakeholders about wildfire risk and preventive measures.
Vice Chair Myers emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “Effective wildfire mitigation into the future will require continued and improved collaboration among the various stakeholders, including our regulated utilities.” He further expressed his eagerness to continue the discussion with utilities, government entities, and the public about preventing and mitigating wildfires in Arizona.
The town hall meeting will take place at the Payson Public Library in the Mogollon Room from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Myers encourages community participation, noting that public input is crucial in helping the Arizona Corporation Commission assess the preparedness of utilities in the region.
