The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) reminds individual income taxpayers who received a 2021 calendar year tax filing extension--and have yet to file--have until Monday, October 17 to submit their tax returns. Corporate calendar year timely filers have until November 15. Partnership and S corporation returns were due September 15; fiduciary returns were due September 30.
Be mindful that paper income returns are considered timely based on the postmark date and electronic returns and payments may need to be submitted a couple days early to be considered timely.
A filing extension provides additional time to file from the due date; five months to file individual returns, seven months for corporate returns, and five and half months for fiduciary returns.
More than 255,000 individuals and 110,900 corporations received an extension for 2021 tax year returns from the state.
If you file a paper individual return, you can anticipate your refund in 8-10 weeks from the date you filed.
