Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey released a Thanksgiving message on his website on Nov. 24.

“Today, and every day, I’m thankful for my family and the honor to have served the great state of Arizona and its people as their governor," he wrote in the release.

“In 1863, after the Battle at Gettysburg, President Abraham Lincoln set out to unite the country and give thanks, designating the last Thursday in November as a national holiday," he continued. “And so, every year we come together as a state and nation to give thanks. As we gather with our family, friends and neighbors this Thanksgiving, we reflect on the countless blessings God has given us," Ducey said.

“We have much to be thankful for in this state where people from around the country and the world come in search of new opportunities and challenges. We’re grateful to live in a land of endless possibilities," Ducey said, adding his thanks to service members.

“Thank you to the men and women of the armed forces serving on the front lines to protect our liberty and freedom. Our gratitude extends to the everyday heroes – first responders, correctional officers, health care professionals, public safety personnel and volunteers to help keep our communities safe and lend a helping hand to neighbors," Ducey added.

“Arizona is the greatest place to live, work and get an education – I’m grateful to have served this state and its people as its governor," Ducey said.
