U.S. Senate Candidate Kari Lake, a Republican from Arizona, stated that illegal immigrants are crossing into the United States without "fear."

"Upon breaching our border wall, many illegal immigrants send selfies back home for proof of life to the cartels & to encourage more people to come," said US Senate Candidate Kari Lake, US Senate Candidate, according to X. "They enter our country without fear of consequences. They know that Ruben Gallego & Joe Biden lay out the welcome mat for illegal aliens. But they treat law-abiding Americans like doormats."

The statement was made in a post by Lake on social media platform X, which included a video of migrants entering the country at the southern border. The footage shows individuals crossing into the U.S. through what appears to be a gap in the border wall and joining a crowd of migrants on the other side.

A report from the Center for Immigration Studies suggests that drug cartels are orchestrating human trafficking into the United States and profiting significantly from these activities. The profits are estimated to be around "$30 million a day," which accumulates to nearly $1 billion every month. Through smuggling fees and the drug trade, cartels reportedly strengthen their operations and distribution of illegal drugs throughout the U.S.

An article published by Federal Newswire highlighted the issue of fentanyl, an extremely potent synthetic opioid that is approximately 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more so than heroin. This drug often finds its way onto the black market through theft, counterfeit prescriptions, and unauthorized distribution.

According to her campaign website, Lake grew up in Iowa and had a 27-year career in journalism before entering politics. In 2022, she received an endorsement from Donald Trump when she ran for Governor of Arizona. Currently running for U.S. Senate, Lake advocates for energy independence, secure borders, and education reform.
