Fountain Hills, AZ has passed a resolution to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in enforcing federal immigration laws. The town aims to protect itself from violent criminal illegal aliens through this measure.
Councilman Allen Skillicorn, who drafted and introduced the ICE Cooperation Resolution, said, "Not long ago I was a state legislator. I had to solve problems, both present and in the future." He emphasized his commitment to keeping the town safe from crime.
The resolution faced opposition during the debate. Councilperson Brenda Kalivianakis expressed her concerns by stating, "This is a solution looking for a problem. It’s virtue signaling… Why are we talking about things that don’t matter?"
