Arizona Senate Republicans have expressed their support for Texas Governor Greg Abbott's efforts to manage the southern border. They are urging Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs to join in these efforts. Senate President Warren Petersen and House Speaker Ben Toma have endorsed a letter with over two dozen state attorneys general, calling on President Joe Biden and the Department of Homeland Security to enforce immigration laws or allow Texas to do so.

Senator Shawnna Bolick is set to introduce a resolution that underscores the Arizona Legislature's backing of Texas' initiatives and calls on Governor Hobbs to take similar actions. "Arizona is overwhelmed from the same dangers brought on by this invasion as Texas," stated President Petersen. He added that since Arizona's Attorney General has not opposed what he described as "lawlessness" promoted by Biden, the Legislature must stand with Texas.

Senator Bolick highlighted various crimes allegedly linked to illegal immigration, such as child sex trafficking and human smuggling, emphasizing that law enforcement resources are stretched thin. She praised Governor Abbott for his actions and urged Governor Hobbs to follow suit.

Senator Janae Shamp stressed the urgency of addressing what she called an open border crisis, describing it as a national security issue. To combat crime infiltration, she introduced the Arizona Border Invasion Act, aligning with Governor Abbott's strategies for empowering local law enforcement in border defense.
