Senator Jake Hoffman has criticized Governor Katie Hobbs for not submitting state agency director nominations for Senate confirmation, a move he claims forces these agencies to operate without legal authority. The Arizona Senate has attempted to engage the Governor in the confirmation process as mandated by state law, but she has reportedly refused.

Hoffman expressed concerns about the impact of unvetted and potentially unqualified individuals leading critical state agencies, which are responsible for overseeing the lives and livelihoods of Arizona's citizens. He warned that this situation could endanger residents and expose agency actions to legal challenges.

"Katie Hobbs has demonstrated a childish refusal to work with anyone not in the far-left political spectrum, and a total disdain for following the law," said Senator Hoffman. "Her decision to grind Arizona to an operational standstill rather than follow Arizona law is possibly the saddest commentary on Democrats' seriousness yet."

According to Hoffman, this situation reflects poorly on Democratic priorities, suggesting they prioritize political maneuvering over effective governance. In contrast, he stated that Republicans are focused on creating a government that serves all Arizonans.

In response to this issue, Senate Republicans have filed a Special Action Complaint against Governor Hobbs.
