Arizona State University Athletic Director Ray Anderson has resigned, a decision supported by Senator T.J. Shope. Anderson's departure comes after nearly a decade in the role. Senator Shope expressed concerns over Anderson's leadership, stating, "As a proud Arizona State alum and lifelong Sun Devil fan, I've been troubled for some time by the administration Ray Anderson led during his near decade's long tenure as athletic director." He added that this change is necessary and long-awaited: "This move is not only a long time coming, it's a move fans and athletes deserve."

In August, Senator Shope addressed the Arizona Board of Regents with a letter requesting an investigation into Anderson's tenure at ASU. This resignation marks an effort to rebuild trust and pride within ASU's athletic department.
