Catholic Vote President Brian Burch said that members of the Democrat party “continue to ignore basic biology” after Arizona Governor Hobbs vetoed a bill preventing biological males from entering female bathrooms and locker rooms.

"The Democrats continue to ignore basic biology--that there are two genders,” Burch told the Grand Canyon Times. “They also continue to put young girls at risk by allowing supposedly gender confused boys into girls' washrooms and locker rooms. Anyone voting for Democrats is voting for this insanity. Parents must speak out and demand an end to this madness."

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed several bills, including SB1628, which would have restricted sex specific spaces like bathrooms and locker rooms to an individual’s biological gender, according to a Grand Canyon Times report.

Every Democrat legislature in both the Arizona State Senate and House of Representatives voted against the bill. Hobbs vetoed the legislation after it was passed by a Republican majority, saying the bill "attacks Arizonans."

SB1628 did not propose changing any current laws or creating new restrictions on an individual’s legal rights. The bill defined “sex” as a person’s biological sex and clarified sex-specific terms like “woman,” “female,” and “mother,” to be referenced in all purposes and situations related to interpreting state law.

Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
