The Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) has announced that the Tucson North office on North Shannon Road will undergo a comprehensive remodel to modernize and expand the facility.
During the renovation, limited MVD services will be available through a temporary office set up in the parking lot using a modular trailer. Services will be conducted via 13 TeleMVD stations inside the trailer. This system allows customers to connect with an MVD employee located elsewhere to complete vehicle and driver license services through computer connections. Each station is equipped with computer equipment, a printer/scanner, and a payment device to facilitate most MVD services.
The remodeling project is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 24, and is expected to last for ten months. During this period, services will be restricted to non-cash transactions. Additionally, appointments and commercial driver license knowledge testing will not be available.
Many MVD services remain accessible online at azmvdnow.gov or at other MVD locations and authorized third-party locations in the greater Tucson area.
Customers can also contact MVD via chat through azdot.gov for direct communication with an MVD expert. This service allows individuals to address questions or complete some services by texting directly with an expert from their computer or smartphone in real-time.
