Blake Masters, the Republican Congressional candidate for Arizona’s 8th District, said the border crisis is "the number one issue in the state" with the other top issue being the impact of inflation on families.

"Unfortunately, we've just got two more years of this Joe Biden experience now since the midterm election, people know that their eggs cost twice as much as they used to, breakfast cereal is increasingly unaffordable, mortgage rates continue to spike," said Masters, according to YouTube. "But what I'm hearing most is people are just mad as hell about the open border. Millions more illegals have come in, basically invited by Joe Biden since 2022. It's by far the number one issue in the state, second would be cost of living and inflation, and no matter which way you slice it, Biden is failing people."

In his appearance on the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, Masters delved into his congressional campaign and discussed the presidential race in Arizona. The candidate was critical of President Joe Biden, pointing out the rising costs of basic necessities and increasing mortgage rates since the midterm elections.

According to Masters, there is a widespread voter frustration with what he described as an "open border" policy under Biden. He claimed that this policy has led to a significant influx of undocumented immigrants since 2022. For Arizonans, immigration and border security are primary concerns followed by the rising cost of living and inflation. In conclusion, Masters believes that Biden is failing the electorate.

In response to a report on crime rates among illegal immigrants in Tucson, Masters issued a statement reinforcing his stance on border security. He said: "How many more rapes, carjackings, assaults and murders do innocent Americans need to suffer before the Democrats start to care about border security? Stopping illegal immigration must be our top priority, and when I’m in Congress and Trump is back in the White House, it will be."

Masters is running for office in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. Previously endorsed by President Donald Trump for his 2022 U.S. Senate race, he has deep roots in Arizona where he grew up and attended high school before graduating from Stanford University and Stanford Law School. He lives with his wife Catherine and their four sons.
