Senator T.J. Shope has expressed his approval following the announcement of a $95 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funding is allocated for the widening of Interstate 10 between Chandler and Casa Grande.
"I've dedicated the last several years of my service at the Legislature to securing the dollars needed to create a safer and faster commute for those who rely on this notoriously dangerous stretch of Interstate 10 between Chandler and Casa Grande," stated Senator Shope.
The federal grant aims to alleviate traffic congestion during rush hour in Senator Shope's district, supporting economic growth attributed to Republican policies over the past decade. Senator Shope also acknowledged Governor Lewis for his role in facilitating this improvement project within the Gila River Indian Community.
"Kudos to Governor Lewis for his efforts in helping to make this improvement project possible within the Gila River Indian Community. His partnership with me on this endeavor has paved the way in creating a more reliable I-10 for all commuters through our state," he added.
