The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has announced upcoming ramp closures as part of ongoing widening projects on Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) and Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) in the East Valley. These closures will commence early next week and are expected to last for 60 days.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time and seek alternative routes during this period. The specific entrance ramps affected include:

- The westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Gilbert Road in the southeast Valley, which will be closed from 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, until mid-April. ADOT suggests drivers use the westbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Cooper or Lindsay roads as detours.

- The northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Cactus Road in Scottsdale, set to close from 1 a.m. on Monday, February 10, until mid-April. Alternative routes include the northbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Shea Boulevard or Raintree Drive.

These closures aim to facilitate the reconstruction of ramps to accommodate new lanes being added as part of the Loop 101 widening project between Shea Boulevard and Pima Road/Princess Drive and the Loop 202 widening project between Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and Val Vista Drive.

Funding and scheduling for these projects fall under the Regional Transportation Plan managed by the Maricopa Association of Governments, which functions as the metropolitan planning organization for Greater Phoenix.
