The Arizona Lottery is playing a significant role in the economic development of the state by partnering with over 3,500 retailers. These partnerships extend beyond sales, as retailers act as ambassadors connecting players to the Lottery’s mission which includes supporting education, healthcare, environmental conservation, and economic development.

Retailers are crucial to the Lottery's distribution network, contributing to over $1.52 billion in sales for FY24. This revenue has allowed for $314 million to be reinvested into vital state programs and $103 million in commissions earned by retailers. The Arizona Lottery provides tools and support such as incentives, in-store activations, and promotions to help these businesses thrive.

Recent initiatives include contests like the Holiday Activation Contest where retailers activating holiday tickets within 72 hours were entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card, with 115 winners selected statewide. Another contest rewarded the top two retailers in each of Arizona’s 23 territories based on sales growth with $100 gift cards.

To stay ahead of consumer preferences, the Arizona Lottery is adopting new technologies such as mobile apps and self-service vending machines. In collaboration with Scientific Games, enhanced self-service lottery terminals are being introduced across the state. These PHD-S Vending Machines support up to 40 unique games and offer multiple payment options.

Additionally, Pollard Banknote and Schafer Retail Solutions are helping deploy Digital Menu Boards at 250 retailer locations to drive sales and improve customer experience.

Through these efforts, the Arizona Lottery aims to enhance customer experiences while increasing retailer success rates by making lottery purchases more accessible.
